Featured Friend: Arlin!

Meet this beauty queen, Arlin!

She has plenty of tips and tricks for this spring! And by the looks of her style, we want to know MORE!

Arlin’s Tips:

The theme is spring wear.
Here are a couple tips I recommend for the spring season.

1. Don't be afraid to wear bold colors, this is the time to do it!

2. White and Blue are key colors too that can be worn with many other pieces of clothing. Have fun with it!

3. Ladies...shoes are key to either making your outfit or breaking it! No, this does not mean you have to go out and spend a lot of money of shoes. I recommend buying a pair of tan heels for this spring season. Tan shoes will go with everything!

Have a wonderful spring season! ~Arlin

Fun fact about Arlin, she placed in the TOP 5 finalists for the Miss Arizona Pageant! I know she gets our vote!
Thanks Arlin you are a doll!

Weekend Wisdom: Too Matchy can be Flashy!

Something that I personally have been trying to avoid is TOO MATCHY clothing. I used to NEVER wear more than 3 colors at once!

For example: Black, Grey, and more black...

Don't get me wrong, these colors are totally FINE together, especially for winter! But now that the weather is warming up, so should your style!

Try something fun like these bright finds:
Bright and Flirty!
 Fun and Classy!

What's even better? This shirt, belt and necklace can be found at TARGET!
Yes please!
Don't forget a darling pair of NUDE PUMPS! They will be your favorite heels for spring and summer to wear with those bright colored pieces!

Jessica Simpson
Christian Louboutin
Steve Madden

Here are some wonderful shops where you can find some flirty pieces...

J. Crew

Gap

So grab a pair of nude pumps, be BOLD with your color selection, and Stay Darling~

Weekend Wisdom: Tease Me, Please!

Who doesn't like BIG, BEAUTIFUL HAIR? I know I do! But it took a bit of practice for me to learn how to TEASE (or "back comb")  my hair. So I want to share with you what I've learned about BIG hair!

First, there are a few tools you will need to start out with: A teasing comb and some killer hair spray

Here are a few of my favorites (click the link above to order these products):
After you have styled your hair (straightened, blow-dried or even curled) you can begin the teasing!

It is important to take the hair section by section. Take the Comb and brush short strokes up and down the hair section without removing the comb from the hair (this can cause breakage)

After the first section is backcombed, spray a few spritzes of your favorite strong hold hairspray right at the root of the hair for maximum hold!

Move onto the next section until all the necessary layers of your hair is teased!

I usually only tease the top of hair, the left (and right) side hair, and the crown hair (you can tease the lower layers of your hair if your hair is pretty thin):
FYI...you may need to gently comb your hair afterwards (don't brush the tease out) but comb the top layer of your hair to smooth out any flyaways.
Sorry Jessica B...love you, hate your flyaways!

So Full and Bouncy!

Some more Big "Hairspiration" for you...

The bigger the hair, the closer to God ;-)
 Happy Sunday Dolls ~Stay Darling!

Weekend Wisdom: Brow Beauty

Perfecting the shape of your eyebrows is quite the task! Each shape will vary from person to person, depending on their face/eye shape and bone structure.

Here are a few different shapes..

You will have to play around with a few different shapes to see which fits best for your face/eye shape. I suggest using a brow pencil to test different angles and arches instead of waxing or plucking the different shapes, that could take forever AND can set you up for some serious brow disfigurement!

Sephora sells a wonderful "Arch It Brow Kit" which you can get here for $11! As you can see in the photo below there are a few different arch shapes you can stencil and test out:

Personally, I do not get my eyebrows waxed. Partially because I do not trust anyone else to consistently frame my brows, but also because it is expense to have them done! I would rather spend that money on some new makeup or shoes ;) ...That being said, I pluck my eyebrows with  tweezers (Revlon).

When plucking or waxing your brows, make sure that you keep the length long enough. As seen in this photo, the start of the brow is at the inside corner of your eyelid, and it extends to the outside corner of your eye:

Even though my eyebrows are thick, I still use an eyebrow pencil to fill in the shape. I use this product:
I use medium brown color, but everyone will be different. Try to get a shade darker than your hair color, that will most likely be the color of your eyebrows. It is very important to match this perfectly otherwise it will look fake and painted on!

The final tip to share with you is to be consistent with your brows and keep it natural!
Email me if you have questions, and as always, Stay Darling!
